OUR DAILY COMPANION

 

OUR DAILY COMPANION

(Is the WORD of God)

 

We have=LOTS OF COMPANIONS

Through our life=our FAMILY=

Our friends=and all

Of our interests and social activities

 

But for me

MY CONSTANT DAILY COMPANION

Is the WORD of God=

My daily companion=OUR DAILY COMPANION

Is=THE WORD

Of the Lord

 

“…….All the people

Were HANGING ON HIS WORDS”                                                                                    Luke 19:48

 

We are BOMBARDED by communication

In this world=

Tik-tok=twitter=e-mails=facebook=telephone

And WHO KNOWS what else

 

It is EASY to miss out

On the HUMAN ESSENTIALS

Of this world

 

A nursing baby=a snowfall

A walk in the woods=or

ON the beach

Those crying out for the POOR

 

But MOST OF ALL=OUR DAILY COMPANION

The WORD OF OUR GOD

 

“How can a young person

Stay on

The path of purity?

By living=ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD                                                                                                 Psalm119:9

 

“EVERY WORD of God

Is flawless=

He is a shield=to those

Who take refuge in him”                                                                                                                     Proverbs 30:5

 

“So is MY WORD

That goes out=from my mouth

It will not return

To me empty”                                                                                                                                           Isaiah 55:11

 

We are coming

To the END=of the Church year

As well as

Our calendar year

And the BEGINNING OF ADVENT

 

ALWAYS hang on

To the WORDS OF Jesus

Always hang on

To the words of OUR Holy Father God

After all=it is=they are

My/OUR DAILY COMPANION

 

“Surely your goodness=and mercy

Will follow me

ALL THE DAYS=of our life”                                                                                                     Psalm 23:6

 

“OUR DAYS=

May come to seventy years=or eighty

IF our strength endures”                                                                                                      Psalm 90:10

 

“……..but in these LAST DAYS

He has spoken to us=By his Son

Whom he appointed heir

To all things

 

And through him also

He made the universe”                                                                                                              Hebrews 1:2

 

I am approaching

68 years old=and you just

NEVER KNOW=when our God

Wants to call YOU HOME

 

So I keep

THE WORD OF GOD

Handy at all times=I hope

That you do too=after all

The WORD OF GOD=is

OUR DAILY COMPANION!

 

In Jesus’ name=and IN the name=of our FOREVER Living and loving=Holy Father God
