THE WALKING STICK=OF FAITH

 

How do you PACK=when

You travel?=Do you pack lightly?

Or are you ONE=of those people

Who take everything you own?

 

Today=Jesus tells us=TO TRAVEL LIGHT

To just take=OUR WALKING STICK=with us

 

“……..Take NOTHING for the journey=

But a walking stick…….”                                                                                                           Mark 6:8

 

I have to tell you=when I USED to travel

I took a lot=INCLUDING

 

My computer=when it worked=my

PRAYER BOOKS=and my bibles=and

Everything that I NEEDED to=write

My poems

 

Obviously=we DON’T HAVE a  walking stick today=

For we are TRAVELING by=Planes=trains=buses=and

Our cars=but we need=we

ALWAYS NEED OUR FAITH

 

In today’s times=our walking sticks

ARE OUR FAITH=so make sure

You ALWAYS have that=If you take nothing else

THE WALKING STICK=OF YOUR FAITH           

For the journey

 

“One who has unreliable friends=soon

Comes to ruin=but there is a friend

Who STICKS closer than a brother”                                                                                            Proverbs 18:24

 

And that brother=is OUR Heavenly Father God

And his son=Jeus Christ=and Jesus told us

To TRAVEL LIGHT=on the journey=just take

Our walking stick=WHICH IS OUR FAITH

 

Jesus also told us=to leave a lot behind

For he KNOWS=all we need is him=to achieve

THE WALKING STICK OF FAITH

 

“Blessed is the one=who does NOT WALK

In step with the wicked=or stand=in the way

That sinners take=or sit

In the company of mockers=but whose delight

 

Is in the law of the Lord=and who meditates on his law

Day and night”                                                                                                                        Psalm 1:1

 

“They will soar=on wings=like eagles

Thay will run=and not grow weary=they

WILL WALK=and not be faint”                                                                                                 Isaiah 40:31

 

“When Jesus spoke again=to the people=he said=

‘I am=the light of the world=whoever

Follows me=will NEVER WALK IN DARKNESS

But will have=the light of life’”                                                                                                   John 8:12

 

So when you travel=LIGHTEN IT UP

A little bit=Take a little bit=but ALWAYS

Make sure=YOU TAKE YOUR FAITH in God=

And your faith in Jesus Christ

 

If you do that=it will be=A GREAT JOURNEY

A great trip=with the Lord=IN FAITH

 

“First I thank my God=through Jesus Christ

For all of you=BECAUSE YOUR FAITH=

Is being reported=all over the world”                                                                            Romans 1:8

 

So REST in the Lord=Wherever you are=

WHEREVER you are GOING=travel light

But always make sure you take=

YOUR WALKING STICK=OF FAITH!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LOVING=forever FAITHFUL=Holy Father God!
