WHAT'S IN THE WAY?

 

WHAT IS IN THE WAY=

(Of your worshiping God)

 

Throughout history=People have

Been SEARCHING for other things=to

Place ABOVE our God=to put something else

NUMBER ONE=in their hearts

 

Today we read about some people=

WORSHIPING a golden statue=this may seem ridiculous

But MOST of us=put other things=in our life

IN PLACE of God=

Sex=money=drugs=alcohol

 

Or even things like OUR SECURITY=or reputation

Our political persuasion=and our social media

We all know=WE are to love God=and love others

But do we=WHAT IS IN THE WAY?

 

“This led to sin=because the people frequented

THOSE CALVES……..”                                                                                                               1 Kings 12:30

 

ANYTHING=we put ABOVE our loving Holy Father God=Jesus

And our LOVE of neighbor=is wrong

 

So think about it=MEDITATE on it==WHAT

In your life= is interfering=with your LOVE of God

And neighbor?=what is DISTRACTING YOU

From doing this?=from your Christian MISSION?

 

What is in the way?

WHAT IS IN YOUR WAY?=from loving the Lord

Whatever it is=it is a sin and just isn’t worth it

 

Do not let=YOUR LOVE=for your God

For the WORD OF GOD=BECOME DISTORTED

What is in=YOUR WAY?

 

“Rather we have=renounced secret and shameful ways

We do not use deception=nor do we DISTORT

The word of God

 

On the contrary=by setting forth

The truth plainly=we commend ourselves to everyone’s

Conscience=in the sight of God”                                                                                           2 Corinthians 4:2

 

“He writes the same way=in all his letters=speaking

In them of these matters=His letters contain

 

Some things=that are hard to understand=which

Ignorant and unstable people=PEOPLE DISTORT

As they do=the other Scriptures=to

Their own destruction”                                                                                                        2 Peter 3:16

 

So=WHAT IS IN YOUR WAY?=in this life

What are you putting AHEAD=of our Holy Father God?

And Jesus?=what keeps you from KEEPING GOD

And Family=from number ONE in your life?

 

It might just HELP you to understand=

WHAT IS IN YOUR WAY?=what

Are you worshiping=IN PLACE OF GOD?

 

“Ascribe to the Lord=the glory due his name=

Bring an offering=and come before him=WORSHIP

The Lord=in the splendor=of his holiness”                                                                     1 Chronicles 16:29

 

“Come let us bow down=IN WORSHIP=let

Us kneel=before the Lord=our Maker”                                                                                  Psalm 95:6

 

“Therefore=I urge you=brothers and sisters

In view of God’s mercy=to offer your bodies=as

A living sacrifice=holy and pleasing to God--------

This is your true=AND PROPER WORSHIP”                                                                  Romans 12:1

 

And so my dear brothers and sisters=Keep God

NUMBER ONE=in your life=and your FAMILY 1A

DON’T LET=anything get in YOUR WAY!

 

Dear Lord=this Lent=help us to

KEEP YOU NUMBER ONE!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING=forever loving

Holy Father God!
