MERRY CHRISTMAS!=PROCLAIMING THE PROMISE OF GOD!
The REALITY of the first Christmas
IS a lot different
Than what is actually portrayed
In Christmas cards and carols=
A GLOWING baby Jesus
Is pictured
Sleeping upon soft straw
And swaddles in germ-free linen
But the reality of CHRISTMAS
Then and now
Was oh so different=
We live in a messy
BROKEN DOWN WORLD
2,000 years ago=and in TODAY’S WORLD
But we can still say
“MERRY CHRISTMAS”=
And PROCLAIM the message
Of the love of God=
FAR FROM PICTURE PERFECT
“……..I PROCLAIM to you=
Good news of great joy…….”
Luke 2:10
IN our own communities=
And many families
They face the same plight as Mary
And unexpected pregnancy=and
Having to RELOCATE=
At the worst possible time
Relocating and fleeing
To seek REFUGE
In another land
UNCERTAINTY=about how everything
Will turn out=and we still have
That same uncertainty today
Maybe worse
But we can still say
“MERRY CHRISTMAS”
And PROCLAIM the kingdom of God
The Kingdom of LOVE
To everyone
OUR CHALLENGE is to live
And proclaim the PROMISE
Despite the hurts of this world
“PROCLAIM the power of God
Whose majesty=is over Israel
Whose power=is in the heavens”
Psalm 68:34
“He will=
PROCLAIM peace to the nations
His rule will extend
From sea to sea=and from the RIVER
To the end =of the earth” Zechariah
9:10
“But what does it say?=
‘The word is near you-
It is your mouth
And in your heart’
That is the message
Concerning faith
That we PROCLAIM” Romans
10:8
SURE!=things are tough
Right now=but we LIVE for God
And continue to PROCLAIM
The message of love
The message OF CHRISTMAS!
May your hearts BE STIRRED
This Christmas=with
The TRUE NATIVITY of our Lord
And PROCLAIM the message
Of Christmas and Jesus=and LOVE
May it CHANGE YOU
From the inside out!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!=I love you all
In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of his Father==and our ALL LOVING
Holy Father God!
