RESPONDING LIKE MARY=WITH FAITH
At first=Mary didn’t understand
HOW the angel’s proclamation
That she would bear=a son
Would be FULFILLED IN HER
Yet the ANGEL=assured her
That the POWER
Of the Spirit of God
Would carry the day
MARY RESPONDED WITH FAITH=
To God’s trustworthiness
And with an OPENNESS
To the mystery
May we all be open=
LIKE MARY=to God
The Holy Father=working in us
RESPONDING LIKE MARY
WITH FAITH!
“And the angel said to her
In reply=
‘The Holy Spirit
Will come upon you
And the power-
Of the Most High=will overshadow you’”
Luke 1:35
May we RESPOND like Mary=
I am sure Mary
Must have had some doubt
As we ALL will surely have
As we attempt=to respond
To God=in his PLAN=for our lives
There are NO easy explanations
In the sometimes wonderful=
Sometimes painful moments
In our lives
All we can do=IS RESPOND
Like Mary=with our faith
And keep moving forward
“I will RESPOND
To the prayer=of the destitute
He will not despise=their plea”
Psalm 102:17
“In that day=I will RESPOND’
Declares the Lord
‘I will RESPOND
To the skies=and they will RESPOND
To the earth’”
Hosea 2:21
LIKE Mary=we are invited
To MAKE ROOM=in our hearts
To the mystery of God
God challenges us
In these last days of Advent
TO LET GO=of our desire
For certainty and security
And ENTRUST OURSELVES
And our FAMILY to the
LOVE OF GOD!
“I felt compelled
To write and urge you=to contend
For the FAITH
That was once=for all ENTRUSTED
To God’s holy people”
Jude :3
Dear Lord=we pray
That we RESPOND LIKE MARY
With our faith
And move forward=in our lives
And be OPEN to God
The Holy Father
Let us trust that
The SPIRIT OF GOD
Will bring NEW CREATION
Out of our chaos and UNCERTAINTY
RESPONDING LIKE MARY=WITH FAITH
In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER FAITHFUL=Holy
Father God!
