THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT

 

 

The greatest compliment

That we can

Give another human being

Is to tell them

That they are

An imitator of Christ

That they live with

Christ’s spirit in them

 

So how can we be

How will we be

Imitations of Christ

In today’s world

 

Be perfect

In love

For every human being

 

Be an imitator

Of Christ

 

Be perfect

In forgiveness

For every human being

 

Be an imitator

Of Christ

 

Be like Saint Francis of Assisi

Clothe the naked

Feed the poor

House the homeless

Even if

You can do it

For just one

 

Be an imitator of Christ

Be an imitator of Saint Francis

Be perfect in love

For the lost

And the forlorn

 

Be perfect

In kindness

For every human being

 

Be an imitator

Of Christ

And though

 

We may not be perfect

 But as long as

We try to do what we can

 

Maybe someday

Maybe someway

Someone will say to you

 

“You are an imitation of Christ

Christ’s spirit lives in you”
