GOD IS=ON THEIR SIDE

 

GOD IS=ON THEIR SIDE

 

There are ALL KINDS

Of names==for our God

 

They INCLUDE=Father=Creator=

Lord=Most High=Master=Healer

Rock=and Shepherd

And many many others

 

But the psalm TODAY

Calls our Lord=our God

“Father of orphans

And DEFENDER of WIDOWS”

 

And our Saint James

Tells us that=

That is what TRUE RELIGION IS

 

God is=ON THEIR SIDE

God is=ON THE SIDE

Of orphans and widows

Yes=God is on the SIDE

Of those=of the world

That cannot=DEFEND THEMSELVES

 

“The father OF ORPHANS

And the DEFENDER OF WIDOWS=is God

In his holy dwelling”                                                                                                                       Psalm 68:6

 

“Religion that God our Father

Accepts as pure=and faultless

Is this

 

To look after=ORPHANS AND WIDOWS

In their distress=and keep oneself

From being polluted

By the world”                                                                                                                               James 1:27

 

Yes=GOD IS

ON THEIR SIDE

The side of the orphan=and the widow

GOD IS=ON THEIR SIDE

God is on the side

OF THE DEFENSELESS

 

In the old world

Orphans and widows

Were those=WITHOUT ANY POWER

 

They had NO legal rights

And they were=easily victimized

 

TO SURVIVE=they had to truly

DEPEND on the

GENEROSITY of others

 

That is SOMETHING

I have had to do

In my life=perhaps you have

HAD to do that too

 

GOD IS=ON THEIR SIDE

God is=on our side too

 

“He defends=the cause

Of the FATHERLESS=and the WIDOW

 

And loves the foreigner

Residing among you=giving them food and clothing”                                                        Deuteronomy 10:18

 

“Truly I tell you’=he said

‘This poor WIDOW=

Has put in more than

All the others’”                                                                                                                              Luke 21:2

 

Dear Lord=help us

To reach out

To the widow=and the orphan

And the DEFENSELESS==in this world

 

For you=dear Lord

Are truly=ON THEIR SIDE!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER GENEROUS=Holy Father God!
