FOLLOWING THE LEAD OF JOHN


John the BAPTIST
Was Jesus' cousin
And precursor


He PREPARED the WAY
For Jesus


“Herod liked to LISTEN to him” Mark 6:20


John would have MADE
The ideal MESSIAH=
He was strong=
UNCOMPROMISING=visionary
And charismatic


He even DRESSED
In camel skins=but he
DIRECTED all of he followers
To Jesus


He TURNED everyone
Toward Jesus=
He PREPARED the way
For the Lord


“I baptize you with water
For repentance
But AFTER ME


Comes one
Who is more powerful
Than I


Whose sandals
I am NOT WORTHY
To carry


He will BAPTIZE YOU
With the Holy Spirit
And fire” Matthew 3:11


John directed all
Of his FOLLOWERS to Jesus


And that is what
We are to do
FOLLOW Jesus


Follow the
Lead of John


“From the ends
Of the earth
I call to you


I call as
My heart grows faint


LEAD ME to the rock
That is higher than I” Psalm 61:2


“I instruct you
In a way
Of wisdom


And LEAD YOU
Along straight paths” Proverbs 4:11


“Leave them
They are blind guides


If the blind
LEAD the blind
Both will fall
Into a pit” Matthew 15:14


That will NEVER HAPPEN
To us=for
We are FOLLOWING John
Who is LEADING US to Jesus=
The MASTER SHEPHERD


We are NOT
Prioritizing John=
We are just
Interiorizing HIS SPIRIT


Herod makes a FOOL
Out of himself and
Beheads John


Let us FOLLOW John
And let us follow
His loving COUSIN JESUS


The leader=
The MASTER of the world


Let us follow Jesus=
Like John
No matter the COST


In Jesus' name=and in the name of the EVER LEADING FATHER
