GOD GIVES US FOOD=SPIRITUAL FOOD TOO
The readings today
Are all about food
And the FOOD God
Gives us to eat
But we all KNOW
The real food of LIFE=
Is the Eucharist=
The body and blood of CHRIST
For all of eternity
"Five loaves and two fish
Are ALL we have here"                                                                                                                   Matthew 14:17
In the first reading today
The Jewish people
Grow TIRED of the manna=
They wish they had meat
To eat
"If only we had
MEAT to eat!
We remember the fish
We ate in Egypt
At no cost--------
Also the cucumbers-melons-
Leeks-onions-and garlic
But now we have
Lost our apetite
We never see anything
But this MANNA"                                                                                                                 Numbers 11:4-6
LITTLE did the
Jewish people know
That with the manna
GOD was setting the table
For the ULTIMATE MANNA
The body and blood of Christ
In the EUCHARIST
And in the GOSPEL today
We read how Jesus feeds 5,000
From five loaves and two fish-
NOT counting women and children
A true miracle of God
A true MIRACLE of Jesus
SPIRITUAL FOOD TOO
"And he directed
The people
To sit down
On the grass
Taking the five LOAVES
And two fish
And looking up to heaven
He gave thanks
And broke the loaces
........
The NUMBER of those
Who ate
Were about 5,000 men
BESIDES women and children"                                                                                     Matthew 14:19-21
God gives us food
SPIRITUAL FOOD TOO
And then he gives us
The spiritual food too=
HIS own body and blood
"But here is the BREAD
That comes down
From heaven
Which anyone may eat
And not die
I am the LIVING BREAD
That came down from heaven
WHOEVER eats this bread
Will live forever........"                                                                                                    John 6:50-51
EAT the food that
God gives you
Eat the food
That Jesus gives you
And you will LIVE FOREVER
God gives us=Jesus gives us
The food that lasts FOREVER=
SPIRITUAL FOOD
