It is true
When we hear someone say
The best things in life are free

But they aren’t
Money or material possessions
They are the things
We already have
Inside of you
And inside of me


They are
The capacity to love
The capacity to be kind
The ability to
When someone wrongs us
To give someone else
A pass and a free ride


These are the things
In life that matter
And if we are living right
Free to you and me
