IF you ever wondered=
Whether or not PRAYER
Makes a difference


All you have to do
Is look at the STORY
Of Saint Monica


WHOM we celebrate today


“But as we were judged worthy
By God


To be entrusted
With the GOSPEL


That is how
We speak........” 1 Thessalonians 2:4


Let us look at the
STORY of Saint Monica


Monica was the mother
Of the great Augustine


Augustine's father
Was a pagan
Who thought NOTHING
Of religion


That didn't bother Augustine
One bit
But Monica was
A DEVOUT
Practicing Christian


She deeply LOVED Augustine
And she was GREATLY DISTRESSED
By his pagan attitudes
And his BEHAVIOR


Monica KEPT PRAYING
For his conversion
Believing PRAYER
Could make a DIFFERENCE


“Answer me
When I call to you
My righteous God


Give me relief
From my distress


Have mercy on me
And HEAR MY PRAYER” Psalm 4:1


“........their burnt offerings
And sacrifices
Will be accepted
On my altar


For my house
Will be called
A HOUSE OF PRAYER
For all nations” Isaiah 56:7


“Be joyful in hope
Patient in affliction
Faithful IN PRAYER


Share with the
Lord's people
Who are in need=
Practice hospitality” Romans 12:12-13


I think that is
The KEY=being faithful
In prayer=
And MONICA WAS


Augustine ran into
Saint Ambrose on a ship
For Rome


Augustine was POWERFULLY MOVED
And became a CHRISTIAN=
Even later


Becoming a bishop himself
And a DOCTOR of the CHURCH


The power of prayer
To MAKE a difference
The power of MONICA'S PRAYER


To make a DIFFERENCE
In the life of
HER FAMILY=and in
The WHOLE WORLD


“Devote yourselves
To PRAYER=
Being watchful and thankful” Colossians 4:2


I am here to TESTIFY
That PRAYER MAKES a
DIFFERENCE in our lives


ASK Saint Monica=and Saint Augustine
The MODEL CHRISTIAN FAMILY


In Jesus' name=and in the name of our ever FAITHFUL FATHER
