BEYOND OUR COMFORT ZONE


How are you DEALING
With people OUTSIDE of
Your comfort zone?


People that are OUTSIDERS
To you=people NOT of
Your skin color-your social class-
Your gender-and your political party-
And nationality


CAN YOU look at people
OUTSIDE of your own group
And still MARVEL at their faith?


“O woman-GREAT is
Your FAITH” Matthew 15:28


That is WHERE we pick up
TODAY'S GOSPEL


What is REMARKABLE about
Jesus-and the Canaanite woman-is
That he did NOT send her away


The disciples want him(Jesus)
To do just that-send her away-
For she is NOT ONE of
The CHOSEN PEOPLE


And the woman PERSISTS
In her faith


The woman kneels before Jesus
And says-”Lord-HELP ME!” Matthew 15:25


Jesus replies-
“It is NOT RIGHT to take
The children's bread-and
Toss it to the dogs” Matthew 15:26


“YES it is Lord-even the
DOGS eat the crumbs
That fall from their master's table” Matthew 15:27


YES-Jesus HEALS the daughter=
Because of the mother's great faith


He steps out=Jesus STEPS OUT
Of his comfort zone


How WILING are you?
HOW WILLING am I
To do just that?


Yes Jesus stepped
BEYOND gender and race
He SAW into the HUMAN HEART


“You JUDGE by human standards
I pass judgment
On NO ONE


But if I do judge
My decisions are TRUE
Because I am NOT ALONE


I stand with the FATHER
Who sent me” John 8:15


“Peter and the
Other apostles replied
'We must obey God
Rather than human beings'” Acts 5:29


Yes-you and I-MUST
HAVE the FAITH of Jesus
We must ACCEPT who God
Sends our WAY today


And be WILLING
To step outside=to STEP
BEYOND OUR COMFORT ZONE
And help them


Who is the “CANAANITE woman”
in our lives?


Are we willing to HELP
Or will we SEND them away?
