GIVING IT AWAY


Possessions are a funny thing=
MANY of us think
The MORE we accumulate=the
More we have=the more
We are worth=DEMONSTRATES
Our value in this world


Yet Jesus TEACHES US the SECRET
To HAPPINESS=he gave EVERYTHING
He had away=he gave ALL
He had for this world


DOWN to his last breath=
He KNEW a person's value
Was summed up in what
Is IMMEASURABLE


LOVE-integrity-honesty=and
Our SPIRITUAITY and Christianity


The giving AWAY of all we ARE
All we have=for OTHERS


“........He went away sad-
For he had MANY POSSESSIONS” Matthew 19:22


Today-we hear about-
The RICH young man


The young man=who KNEW
The SCRIPTURES=he KEPT the commandments
But asks Jesus=what he is
STILL MISSING


“'ALL these I have kept'=
The young man said,=
'WHAT do I still lack?'” Matthew 19:20


Jesus answered=
“If you want to be PERFECT-
Go-SELL your possessions
And give to the POOR


And you will have TREASURE
In heaven
Then COME and follow me” Matthew 19:21


My=FRIENDS=we live
In a MATERIALISTIC society=
WHO could do this?


Could you? Would you? WOULD I?


The answer is NO=yet
We know=because of Jesus' example


The KEY to life
The key to LIVING forever
Is giving ourselves away=TOTALLY


“Then he said to them=
'WATCH OUT=be on your guard
AGAINST all kinds of greed


Life does NOT consist
In an ABUNDANCE
Of possessions” Luke 12:15


“ALL the believers-were-
ONE in heart and mind


No one claimed
That any of their possessions
Were their own


But they SHARED
Everything they had” Acts 4:32


Maybe that is the KEY=
SHARING all we have with OTHERS


GIVING it away to God=giving
It AWAY=to OTHERS
Sharing it=for that is what JESUS DID
That is WHAT the
Early Christians did


GIVING IT AWAY-ALL AWAY!


“NOW-if we are children
Then we are HEIRS


Heirs of God-
And co-heirs of Christ


If indeed we SHARE
In his sufferings
In order


That we may also
SHARE in his GLORY” Romans 8:17


Dear Lord=TEACH US
This quality of CHARITY
That you have


That makes it-so easy-
For YOU-to GIVE
YOURSELF AWAY


In the NAME of
JESUS OUR LORD
