THAT NOT SO GOOD FEELING
THAT NOT SO GOOD FEELING
One of the WORST FEELINGS
That I have felt-in life-
IS the feeling of REJECTION
It doesn't
Make you feel very good and it
IS a feeling that I
Had to DEAL with again
MOST RECENTLY
IF there is any consolation=
It is=in that it is SOMETHING
That we ALL have to deal with
Even Jesus=FACED it=his
Hometown would NOT ACCEPT him
For who he was=for they KNEW
HIS FAMILY
“And they took OFFENSE at Jesus” Matthew 13:57
But Jesus said to them:
'A PROPHET is NOT without honor
EXCEPT in his home town
And in his home'
And he did NOT DO
Many miracles there
Because of their
LACK OF FAITH” Matthew 13:57-58
I REMEMBER when I was
A boy and how I FELT for
That last boy who wasn't picked
OR when I was a young man
And REJECTED romantically
THAT NOT SO GOOD FEELING
But JESUS UNDERSTANDS-he
Went through it too
Yet God-his FATHER-
LIFTED him up-and
He LIFTS US UP TOO
He is the ONE
Who NEVER REJECTS us-
Who ALWAYS loves us-who always
LIFTS us up-
When we are feeling down
“You who BRING GOOD news
To Zion
Go up
On a high mountain
You-who bring good NEWS
To Jerusalem
Lift up your voice
WITH a shout
LIFT IT UP-
Do not be afraid
Say to the towns of Judah
'HERE IS YOUR GOD'” Isaiah 40:9
“The CROWDS were astonished
At his teaching-for he
TAUGHT them
As ONE having authority” Matthew &:28-29
They LOVED him at the
SERMON ON THE MOUNT-
But NOT so much
In his home town
Not so much
WHEN he was crucified
NONE of us can
Move through life
Without experiencing rejection
And it is ALWAYS PAINFUL
But you NEED it
To LEARN VALUABLE LESSONS
In life
THAT NOT SO GOOD FEELING
But God always=LIFTS
Us up=he did it with Jesus=
And he WILL do it with us
HE LIFTS US UP
“But you Lord
Are a SHIELD around us
My glory-the ONE-
Who LIFTS my head high” Psalm 3:3
That NOT so
GOOD FEELING
CAN lead to SPIRITUAL GROWTH
In us
To self-knowledge
And to have COMPASSION
For OTHER hurting people
Jesus UNDERSTANDS THAT NOT SO
GOOD FEELING
He LIVED IT
In the name of JESUS-OUR LORD
