CLEARING OUR VISION
Have you ever had a friend-or relative-
TELL you something-
ONLY to have it come true
A few months later
But for some reason-
You/we/I don't listen
I think this happens
To us all
MORE OFTEN than we care to admit
“You hypocrite-remove the wooden beam
From your eye first
Then you will see CLEARLY
To remove
The splinter
From your brother's eye” Matthew 7:5
And isn't that
ALWAYS the way
It seems that the
PLANKS in our own eyes
Keeps us from seeing ourselves
More clearly
It just seems
That we are too often
Criticizing or judging others
To see ourselves
The way that we should
Let us all
CLEAR OUR VISION
Let us all get our vision
Back to 20/20
So we can see ourselves
Just as clearly
AS GOD SEES US
“My eyes
Are ever on he Lord
For only he will
Release my feet
From the snare” Psalm 25:15
“Do not be wise
In your own eyes
Fear the Lord
And shun evil” Proverbs 3:7
“The eye
Is the LAMP of the body
IF your eyes are healthy
Your whole body
Will be FULL OF LIGHT” Matthew 6:22
I have to tell you
I/we-well I think we all
RECEIVE great advice and spiritual wisdom
From time to time
But it takes time-
And self-examination and soul-searching
To actually REALIZE
How the TRUTH applies to us
We have to get that plank
Out of our own eyes
So that we can
CLEAR OUR VISION
So that we can have 20/20 vision
About ourselves again
Dear God-Dear Lord
We ask you to HELP US
NOT to criticize and judge others
And KEEP our minds and eyes
Upon our own sins
So Lord we ask you for CLEAR SIGHT-
For right thinking
And for genuine rebirth
And HEALING within ourselves
Dear Lord-please CLEAR OUR VISION
and give us 20/20 sight once again
