TO BE=A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

 

TO BE=A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

 

There are many things

That stand out=when

You are

A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

 

But one thing for certain

Is that=
You must have

A HEART FOR SERVING=to be

A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

 

“WHOEVER receives this child

In my name=

RECEIVES ME

 

And whoever receives me=

Receives the one

Who sent me

 

For the ONE

Who is LEAST

Among all of you

 

Is the one

Who is the greatest”                                                                                                                Luke 9:48

 

One such person

Who had a HEART FOR SERVING

Was the great-

FRENCH servant of the poor

Saint Vincent de Paul

 

We all have heard of

Or are FAMILIAR

With Saint Vincent de Paul charities

 

TO BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

Means to BE a servant

For others=just like Saint

Vincent de Paul=whose feast day

Is today

 

“But be very careful

To keep the commandments

 

And the law

That Moses=the SERVANT of the Lord

Gave you

 

To love your God=

To walk=in obedience to him-

To keep his commands

 

To hold fast to him

And to SERVE HIM

With all your heart

And with all your soul”                                                                                                     Joshua 22:5

 

“SERVE wholeheartedly=as if

You were SERVING the Lord-

Not people

 

Because you know

That the Lord

Will reward each one

For whatever good=they do

 

Whether they are

Slave or free”                                                                                                                            Ephesians 6:7-8

 

Yes=we Christians

We have been called

TO SERVE ALL OTHERS

 

We are called

TO LIVE

A life of service

 

SERVE your brothers and sisters

Out of mutual love

And responsibility

It is the Christian way

It is OUR CHRISTIAN DUTY

 

“There are different kinds

OF SERVICE=but the same Lord”                                                                      1 Corinthians 12:5

 

“……..to equip his people

For works OF SERVICE

So that=the body of Christ

 

May be built up-

Until we all reach unity

In the faith……..”                                                                                              Ephesians 4:12

 

Dear lord=dear Jesus=we PRAY

That you fill us

WITH LOVE=

So that we=may HUMBLY SERVE OTHERS

 

And grow to BE

A DISCIPLE OF JESUS=and saint Vincent de Paul

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name of=OUR EVER GIVING=Holy Father God!
