MOMENTS IN SILENCE

 

ONE of the most difficult

CHALLENGES of our faith=

Is coping with SUFFERING

 

In fact=that is the question=

Why is there=why does

God ALLOW

Such horrible suffering

In this world?

 

“……..so must the SON OF MAN

Be lifted up…….”                                                                                                              John 3:14

 

I don’t know the answer=

NO ONE knows the answers=

In fact=

There is no answer

 

Any real explanation=that

We try

COMES UP EMPTY=

Sometimes the most

We can do=is offer up

MOMENTS IN SILENCE

 

There are no words

For the SEARING PAIN

 

Of a parent

Who lost a child

Or a child

 

Who watches a parent

Die an AGONIZING DEATH

To cancer

 

And there are NO WORDS

For this world=and this pandemic

Of COVID

Or the polarization

Of people

Because of political or racial DIVISION

 

They call for

MOMENTS OF SILENCE

They call for

SACRED MOMENTS with God

 

“That the mirth

Of the wicked

Is brief=the joy

Of the godless

Lasts but a MOMENT”                                                                                                               Job 20:5

 

“For his anger-

Lasts only a MOMENT

But his favor=lasts a lifetime

 

Weeping may stay

For the night=but rejoicing

Comes in the morning”                                                                                                  Psalm 30:5

 

“Can a country

Be born in a day?

Or a nation=be brought forth

In a MOMENT?                                                                                                                      Isiah 66:8

 

Sometimes=all we can do

Is get down

ON OUR KNEES=and pray to God

Offering up

MOMENTS IN SILENCE

 

We sit in silence

And HONOR a God

The agony=

Who was made

In our flesh and blood

 

Our mouths are CLOSED=

Our heart are

BROKEN IN TWO=and our tears

Water the earth

 

We suffer=we have

MOMENTS IN SILENCE

 

“Even fools=are thought wise

If they keep SILENT

And discerning

If they=hold their tongues”                                                                                                           Proverbs 17:28

 

“The Lord is in

His holy temple=

Let all the earth

BE SILENT before him”                                                                                                            Habakkuk 2;20

 

WHEN we are suffering

All we have to do

Is LOOK=at the cross

 

And we UNDERSTAND

Our God is a HOLY FATHER

Who IDENTIFIES with our suffering

MOMENTS OF SILENCE!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ever LOVING HOLY FATHER God!
