LETTING GO=OF SOME BAGGAGE

 

At one time=or another

IN OUR LIFE=

We all have a need

Or want TO TRAVEL

 

But sometimes=we are carrying

TOO MUCH BAGGAGE=and

We have to

Let something go

 

We have to REMEMBER

That life=

Is NOT all about me=

That sometimes

We have to THINK

Of others

 

We have to LET GO

Of our baggage

With ourselves

WITH OUR PREOCCUPATION

With me

 

LETTING GO=

OF SOME BAGGAGE

 

“Take NOTHING

For the journey……..

 

And let no one

Take a second tunic”                                                                                                                     Luke 9:3

 

I think that WHEN Jesus

Tells his disciples

TO TRAVEL LIGHTLY=

This is what he is

TALKING ABOUT

 

IF we are teaching

Anyone=anything in this world

We have to REMEMBER that

We have to LET GO

Of some of our selfish desires

In this world

 

“Turn my heart

Toward your statutes

And not toward

SELFISH GAIN”                                                                                                             Psalm 119:36

 

“An unfriendly person-

Pursues SELFISH ENDS

 

And against all judgment

Starts quarrels”                                                                                                     Proverbs 18:1

 

“But if you harbor

Bitter envy and SELFISH ambition

In your hearts

 

Do not boast about it

Or deny the truth”                                                                                                          James 3:14

 

We have to LET GO

Of that preoccupation

With ourselves

 

As BEARERS and messengers

Of the Gospel

 

We really need to

GIVE UP=some of ourselves=

In order for GOD’S MESSAGE

To be powerful

And persuasive

 

Sometimes we have to

LET GO-

Of some of our comforts

And security=and even

The FEAR of depending on others

 

We have to let go

And know

God will GIVE US

What we need

 

“Do not be like them

For your Father knows

WHAT YOU NEED

Before you ask him”                                                                                                                Matthew 6:8

 

“Share with the Lord’s people

Who are IN NEED

Practice hospitality”                                                                                                          Romans 12:13

 

Dear Lord=WE PRAY=

Help us to let go of SOME

OF OUR BAGGAGE=in this world

 

Especially our preoccupation

With ourselves=and TRAVEL LIGHTLY

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of OUR ALWAYS loving=always GIVING Holy Father God1
