WRAPPED IN PRAYER!

 

WRAPPED IN PRAYER

 

In the past=times gone by=

A lot was made of mountains

In the SCRIPTURES=

Many people went there

To pray=JESUS DID!

 

Climbing a mountain was not

And is NOT EASY=but it was

A good place

To go and pray=to GET CLOSE to God

WRAPPED IN PRAYER!

 

“Jesus departed to the MOUNTAIN

To pray=and he spent

The night=IN PRAYER to God”                                                                                             Luke 6:12

 

Mountains towered above

MOST of the terrain=

They were thought of

As places

CLOSER to God and the heavens

 

Jesus went there

To be HEARD by God

WRAPPED IN PRAYER=in the mountains

Of our life

 

“Many nations will

Come and say=

‘Come let us

Go up to the MOUNTAIN

Of the Lord

 

To the temple-

Of the God of Jacob’”                                                                                                              Micah 4:2

 

“……..you can say

To this MOUNTAIN

 

‘Move from here to there’

And it will move

Nothing will be impossible=for you”                                                                               Matthew 17:20

 

FAITH is a wonderful thing=

The mountain is a great place

To FIND your faith=

To get CLOSER to God

Jesus did it=we can too

WRAPPED IN PRAYER!

We can all do it

 

Jesus often took HIMSELF

To the mountain to pray

 

To give himself

The gift of RESTORING HIMSELF=

To get in touch=with his Father

And to pray

 

It was a GOOD PLACE

For Jesus=to get restored=

After pouring out

All of his energies=in trying

TO HEAL OTHERS

 

The mountains were

A good place for Jesus

To CONTEMPLATE his future actions

For DISCERNING God’s will

 

For example=in the choosing

Of the twelve

Who were going

To go and CARRY ON HIS LIFE’S MISSION

 

“The DISCERNING HEART

Seeks knowledge=

But the mouth of a fool

Feeds on folly”                                                                                                                       Proverbs 15:14

 

“……..so that you may

Be able to DISCERN=what is best

And may be pure

And blameless=for the day of Christ…….”                                                                               Philippians 1:10

 

What a model

Jesus was for us=always

WRAPPED IN PRAYER!

 

We should WRAP ourselves

In prayer too

To make discernments of conscience

For our every day living=

WRAPPING OURSELVES IN PRAYER!

On a mountain=at the beach

Or wherever our life takes us

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER PRAYING HOLY FATHER God!
