“God wouldn’t let me”

 

 

I wanted to

Throw in the towel

I wanted to give it all up

I really wanted to

But

God wouldn’t let me

 

God wouldn’t let me

Throw it all away

God wouldn’t let me

Turn my back

And walk away

 

He kept giving me

Miracle after miracle

He kept giving me

People to see me through

And when I didn’t

Have a dime in my pocket

He gave me that too

 

I wanted to

Throw it all away

I wanted to walk away

I was really ready to

But

God wouldn’t let me

 

God wouldn’t let me

Be a coward

God wouldn’t let me run away

How badly I wanted

To leave this world

But God wouldn’t let me

 

So many miracles

In my life

I wouldn’t know

Where or how to begin

 

Every time

I wanted to give up

God wouldn’t let me
