RESPONDING LIKE SAINT JOSEPH!
Today we CELEBRATE=
The great Saint Joseph=
The Father of us ALL=
And a silent hero
Wouldn't it be great=
If we all had the FAITH
Of Joseph?
In Matthew=we have
Our most extensive encounter with him=
And we LEARN
That he would STRUGGLE with
The news
That Mary was with child
“Was found with child” Matthew 1:18
“When Joseph woke up=
He did what-
The angel of the Lord
Had COMMANDED=
He took Mary home
As his wife” Matthew 1:24
A silent hero=
He did what
The Lord had commanded=
He took the UNMARRIED WOMAN=Mary
Pregnant with child
HOME to be his wife
RESPONDING LIKE SAINT JOSEPH!
This act of obedience
By Joseph
Suggests a HUMILITY
That all fathers
In today's world
Are called to IMITATE
RESPONDING like Saint Joseph!
Imitating his humble actions
“A FATHER=to the fatherless=
A defender of widows-
Is God=in his holy dwelling” Psalm 68:5
“A wise son=brings joy
To his FATHER =
But a foolish son
Brings grief=to his FATHER” Proverbs 10:1
“Jesus answered
'I am the way-and the truth-
And the life
No on-comes to the FATHER
Except through me'” John 14:6
We can worry=or/and
Suffer much anxiety=
About many things
Or like=the great SAINT JOSEPH
We can set aside our many worries
And act with honor
And wisdom
When things=seem out of CONTROL
We must TRUST
In the Lord=
We must RESPOND WITH LOVE!
INSTEAD of anger and shame
Respond with and IN LOVE and mercy
TRUSTING in the Lord
“Some TRUST in chariots
And some in horses
But we TRUST
In the name of the Lord our God” Psalm 20:7
“Now it is required
That those who have
Been given a TRUST
Must prove faithful” 1 Corinthians 4:2
RESPONDING LIKE SAINT JOSEPH!
With love=
And obedience-wisdom-and MERCY
Dear Saint Joseph=we pray
That ALL FATHERS
RESPOND just like you
In faith and with LOVE
In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our EVER PERFECT=loving holy FATHER GOD!
