SEEING OUR OWN FLAWS

WE all have enough

Problems of our own=

Without LOOKING to others

For what is wrong with them

At least I know I do

SEEING OUR OWN FLAWS=for one thing

I need to LEARN to be more PATIENT-

With others and myself

I need to LEARN to=NOT TO
EXPECT everything right now

All the time=

That is ONE of my flaws

And I have too MANY OTHERS

To count=How about you?

Do you have any FLAWS?

We all make too

MANY MISTAKES=to be

Worried about CRITICIZING

Someone else

SEEING OUR OWN FLAWS=

That is something-

The Pharisee didn't do today

In the readings=take into ACCOUNT

Some of his own flaws

“The PHARISEE took up

His position=

And spoke this prayer

To himself

'O God-I thank you-

That I am NOT LIKE

The rest of humanity--------

Greedy-dishonest-adulterous-

Or even like this tax collector'” Luke 18:11

How arrogant=how self-righteous=

How FULL OF PRIDE

This man was

How easy it is

To OVERLOOK our own flaws=

Yet criticize those

SAME shortcomings in others

How easy it is to POINT OUT-

To criticize someone else

And give ourselves a FREE PASS

“We want to avoid

Any CRITICISM=of the way

We administer this liberal gift

For we are taking pains

To do what is right=

Not only=

In the eyes of the Lord

But also-

In the eyes of man” 2 Corinthians 8:20-21

“Why do you look

At that SPECK of sawdust

In your brother's eye

And pay no attention

To the PLANK

In your own eye?” Luke 6:41 (and Matthew 7:3)

SEEING other people's flaws

And NOT OUR OWN

Is tempting=

On so many levels

But we KNOW

SEEING OUR OWN FLAWS

Is where it is at=

For there has been

Only ONE flawless human being=

JESUS CHRIST!

“And the words of

The Lord=are FLAWLESS

Like silver purified

In a crucible=

Like gold refined=seven times” Psalm 12:6

Let us LOOK AT OURSELVES=

IF we need to criticize-

Let us SEE OUR OWN FLAWS

In Jesus' name=and in the name of our EVER PERFECT FATHER
