BEING SUPPORTIVE TO OTHERS
Today=we READ about Jesus=
Who runs into a FUNERAL PROCESSION
At the GATES of the city=Nain
It is a CHANCE encounter
And it TOUCHES Jesus=
And he reaches out with COMPASSION
And SUPPORT
For the widow=and her son
“Jesus JOURNEYED to a city
Called Nain.........” Luke 7:11
And it RAISES the question=who do
I MEET=that I can SUPPORT
In the course of my BUSY DAY?
“A large CROWD from the city
Was with her” Luke 7:12
The widow was RECEIVING much
SUPPORT right now=but who would be there
Weeks=or even months down the road?
WHO can we REACH OUT to=
And LEND our support=and COMPASSION
To TODAY?=like Jesus always did
BEING SUPPORTIVE to others
Like Jesus=feeling the COMPASSION
“They confronted me
In the day
Of my disaster
But the Lord
Was my SUPPORT” Psalm 18:18
“If others
Have this right of SUPPORT
From you
Shouldn't we have it
All the more?” 1 Corinthians 9:12
As CHRISTIANS=our duty is
To give COMPASSION and SUPPORT
To all of those in NEED
Jesus was
“MOVED WITH PITY” Luke 7:13
HOW MUCH pity and compassion
Do I have for
Those in need?=Am I
FILLED with it=like Jesus was
For all in need?
“As a father
Has COMPASSION
On his children
So the Lord has COMPASSION
On those who fear him” Psalm 103:13
Being supportive to OTHERS
FEELING the compassion
Like Jesus
“When Jesus landed
And saw a large crowd
He had COMPASSION on them
Because they were like sheep
Without a shepherd
So he BEGAN teaching them
Many things” Mark 6:34
“Jesus GAVE him to his MOTHER” Luke 7:15
Jesus RESTORED the vital
Mother-son relationship=by
Bringing the son BACK to LIFE
What RELATIONSHIPS can we
RESTORE=in our lives today?
“And the God
Of all grace
Who called you
To his ETERNAL GLORY
In Christ
After you have suffered
A little while
Will himself RESTORE YOU
And make you strong=
Firm=and steadfast” 1 Peter 5:10
And the people SPREAD
The GOOD NEWS about Jesus
“Through the WHOLE of Judea” Luke 7:17
Dear LORD=help us to BE
SUPPORTIVE to all others=and SPREAD
Your good news
ALL OVER THE WORLD
