MAKE US HUMBLE=LIKE YOU=DEAR LORD

 

Jesus proclaimed the GOOD NEWS

To the world=in his own

HUMBLE WAY

Taking on=the humility

Of a slave

 

He FULFILLED the gospel message

With spiritual PRADOXES=these

Seemingly contradictory statements

Are IMPRESSIVE GUIDELINES

For Christian living

Jesus is THE EXAMPLE!

MAKE US HUMBLE=like you=DEAR LORD!

 

“Whoever exalts himself=

WILL BE HUMBLED”                                                                                                             Matthew 23:12

 

Jesus tells us=that in death

We will find

FULLNESS OF LIFE

 

It is BETTER to be a person

Who SERVES=than one who is served

 

And ANYONE who boasts

And brags about himself

Will not be exalted=BUT HUMBLED

 

Dear Lord=MAKE US HUMBLE=JUST LIKE YOU!

 

“He guides the HUMBLE

In what is right

And teaches them=his way”                                                                                                    Psalm 25:9

 

“These are the ones

I look on=with favor

 

Those who are HUMBLE

And contrite=in spirit

And who tremble=at my words”                                                                                           Isaiah 66:2

 

“……..for I am gentle

And HUMBLE in heart

And you will find rest

For your souls

 

For my yoke is easy

And my burden is light”                                                                                                          Matthew 11:29-30

 

BE HUMBLE=do not brag

About yourself=and you just might

BE EXALTED by the Lord

 

These TEACHINGS of Jesus=

Are in direct opposition

To the teachings of the WORLD

Serve=not be served

Be last=not first

 

But more than that

Jesus is a PARADOX HIMSELF

 

He is Lord and KING

He is master and ALL-POWERFUL

 

And yet he VOLUNTARILY

Submitted himself

To be arrested=beaten

And nailed to the CROSS

 

He was INNOCENT and

FULL OF LIFE=yet he chose

A painful death=to pay

For ALL of our sins

 

DEAR LORD=MAKE US HUMBLE=LIKE YOU!

 

“Be completely HUMBLE and gentle=

Be patient=

Bearing with one another=in love”                                                                                                   Ephesians 4:2

 

“HUMBLE YOURSELVES=

Before the Lord=

And he will lift you up”                                                                                                                  James 4:10

 

“HUMBLE yourselves=therefore

Under God’s mighty hand=

That he may lift you up

In due time”                                                                                                                                  1 Peter 5:6

 

Dear Jesus=

Our KING of heaven and earth

MAKE US HUMBLE=just like you

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ever HOLY HUMBLE FATHER!
