KEEPING SCORE=HONEST AND SOUL SEARCHING
We live in a society
Where KEEPING SCORE=makes all
The difference
Where if you DON’T FINISH number one=
It means you are NOTHING
But God doesn’t feel that way
About you=God and Jesus
Just want you=to give
YOUR BEST EFFORT=and you
Are number one with them
KEEPING SCORE=be an honest
And soul-searching person
“……..how often must I forgive him?”
Matthew 18”21
In this society
That we live in=
We often become INJURED
People insult us-injure us=
Disrespect us-
Yet God tells us=Jesus tells us
We are to FORGIVE THEM
We try and take
The HIGH ROAD=but it isn’t
Always that easy=TO FORGIVE
DON’T KEEP SCORE with people-
Always give them=the BENEFIT
Of the doubt=
Always forgive=of YOURSELF
For your own well-being
If not for theirs
“But who can discern
Their own errors?=
FORGIVE my hidden faults”
Psalm 19:12
“And FORGIVE US our debts
As we also=
Have FORGIVEN our debtors”
Matthew 6:12
“And when you=stand praying
IF you hold anything=against anyone
FORGIVE THEM=
So that your Father in heaven
MAY FORGIVE YOU=your sins”
Mark 11:25
SOME of us
CARRY resentment with us
Day in and out
It is NO GOOD
For the person
And it is no good
FOR YOU=it will eat
US up alive
DON’T KEEP SCORE=
Be an HONEST
Soul-searching person
“Bear with each other
And FORGIVE one another
If any of you=has a grievance
Against someone
FORGIVE=as the Lord forgave you” Colossians
3:13
Forgiveness is the CHALLENGE-----
Of a good spiritual life=
It is NOT a two-way street=
And it does not involve
KEEPING SCORE!
Forgiveness is the TIME
To enter into our SOUL-SEARCHING=
It is the time=to let go
Of unfair judgments and gossip
Don’t keep score!=
BE HONEST AND SOUL SEARCHING
Love others=forgive others
It is the ESSENCE=
Of the solid CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION=
A sound spiritual life
In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS FORGIVING
