SOMETHING TO=HOLD ON TO

 

TODAY=we celebrate-the feast of THE TRANSFIGURATION=Jesus

Knew the DISCIPLES=would have suffering=and would be OVERWHELMED

By his loss=Through the CRUCIFIXION

 

He knew=They would be confused and DISORIENTED=and

He wanted them to be=ANCHORED IN HOPE=and love=even

Before being RAISED=so he gave them=SOME GLIMPSES OF LIGHT

He gave them=SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO!=He gave them=and us

THE TRANSFIGURATION=”so hey kept the matter=TO THEMSELVES=

Questioning what RISING from the dead meant”                                                                   Mark 9:10

 

Do you know what=THE TRANSFIGURATION IS?=The Transfiguration

Is when Jesus=took Peter=James and John=HIGH up on a mountain=and

He was TRANSFIGURED before them

 

“After six days=Jesus took with him Peter=James=and John=he

Brother of James=and he led them up a high mountain by themselves

 

There he was=TRANSFIGURED before them=His face SHONE like the sun=

And his clothes=became a DAZZLING WHITE=as the light=Just then=

There appeared=before them MOSES and Elijah=talking with Jesus”                                 Matthew 17:1-3 

 

SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO=Something to BELIEVE IN

Even before the Resurrection=Jesus knew what was coming=He

Wanted to=GIVE THOSE DISCIPLES=SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO!=

Something to believe in

 

Jesus KNEW strange=terrible and confounding events were about to happen

About to unfold=RIGHT BEFORE their eyes=He wanted them to believe=to

HAVE HOPE=to have SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO!=before his awful death

 

“But be very careful=to keep the commandment=and the law=that MOSES==

The servant of the Lord=gave you=to love the Lord=Your God=to walk

In obedience to him=to keep his commands=to HOLD fast to him=with

All your heart=and with all your soul”                                                                                                  Joshua 22:5

 

“Yet I am always with you=YOU HOLD ME=by my right hand”                                                       Psalm 73:23

 

“Then you will shine=among them like the stars=in the sky=as

YOU HOLD FIRMLY=to the word of life”                                                                                            Philippians 2:16

 

The TRANSFIGURATION gives us=SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO=in addition

To Jesus’ Resurrection=it gives us HOPE=and something to believe in

 

When we are going=through those terrible health diagnoses=when we having

FINANCIAL SETBACKS=and WHEN our relationships=are CRUMBLING=we need

That SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO=to believe in=and to hope in

 

“He is before all things=and in him=all things HOLD TOGETHER”                                          Colossians1:17

 

“Fight the good fight=of the faith=TAKE HOLD of the eternal life=to

Which you were called=when you made your good confession=In

The presence of many witness”                                                                                                             1 Timothy 6:12

 

So grab on to Jesus=we have two MIRACLES of Jesus today=the

RESURRECTION and the Transfiguration=and many other miracles=

Of which Jesus did=HOLD ON TO HIM=to Christ=for HOPE=in the eternal

Life=and he will SHARE THE LIGHT=of his life with you=HOLD ON to him

With all your might

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LOVING=forever living

FOREVER MIRACLE MAKING=Holy Father God!
